Ski Instructor Course and Guaranteed Job ski instructing in Japan

Yep, it's totally possible! Lots of people from the UK do this.

It's usually through an "internship" or "train-and-work" program. These are offered by special companies.

What's usually included?

Training: Intense on-snow stuff to get you ready for the exam.

Certification Exam: You'll take the Level 1 exam.

Timing: You'd arrive in Japan in late November/early December to start training.

Guaranteed Job: Once you pass that Level 1 exam, you're pretty much set for a paid instructing job at a partner ski school. This usually runs from mid-December through March or April.

Help with everything else: They'll usually sort you out with visa guidance, accommodation, a season-long lift pass, and support in the resort.

Where do these programs happen? Mainly Niseko and Hakuba.

How it works:

Sign up and pay: You book and pay for the whole package well in advance.

Train and Certify: You arrive late Nov/early Dec, train hard to improve your skiing and teaching, then take your Level 1 exam.

Start your job: Pass the exam, and boom! You're a paid ski instructor for the rest of the season.

Is the "guarantee" real? Pretty much! It's usually conditional on you passing the Level 1 exam, but the training is specifically designed for it, so pass rates are high. Just put in the effort!
