Whilst using skiing techniques, Ski Mountainers are going to climb otherwise inaccessible or dangerous slopes and mountains on foot and using equipment such as crampons, ice axes and ropes. The skis are carried strapped to your backpack. If you are looking for equipment for some of these items, you can go to our webiste to purchase a range of backpacks for example. www.snowsafe.co.uk

Ski Mountaineering and Ski Touring are similar in many ways. Ski Touring is more like going up a mountain without climbing, whilst Ski Mountaineering is basically climbing the mountain. Both of these activities are off piste and remote.

Both of these activities can cause cold, fatigue, injury and you should be aware that an Avalanche is more likely in these areas of the mountains.
