Common Ski Season Jobs in France

Chalet Host: This is one of the most popular and readily available jobs.2 You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of a chalet, which includes cooking, cleaning, and providing a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Chalet Chef: For those with more culinary experience, this role involves planning and cooking meals, often a set menu, for chalet guests. -
Chalet Manager/Couple: This is a more senior role, often for two people, where you manage one or more chalets. The duties are similar to a chalet host but with added responsibilities like staff supervision, logistics, and dealing with guest issues.

Childcare Staff/Nanny: Many family-focused ski companies employ nannies and childcare staff to look after children in the chalets or at kids' clubs.

Resort Representative (Rep): A resort rep is the main point of contact for guests in a specific resort. You'll be responsible for meeting and greeting guests, organising transfers, and providing information about the resort. You can often get ski guiding work here as well.
Maintenance Crew/Driver: This role involves everything from airport transfers and in-resort driving to general maintenance and repairs of the chalets and company vehicles.

Hotel and Bar Staff: Ski resorts have numerous hotels and bars that employ seasonal staff. These roles can include receptionists, bartenders, waiting staff, and kitchen porters.
Ski/Snowboard Instructor: To be an instructor in France, you must hold a high-level qualification that is recognised by the French authorities.
You need a BASI level 4 qualification, but you will also need to pass their tests :
The Euro test ( a timed slalom race ), Euro security ( test your off-piste and avalanche awareness knowledge. And you must know some French.
Driver for Transfers
There are many vacancies for drivers for transfers from the airport to the ski resorts, mainly Geneva and Lyon, but also Grenoble and Chambéry airports
Requirements: You need a clean UK B license and to prove you have had professional experience driving minibuses. You may also need to have a Category D1 or D licence (for minibuses or buses) with a Driver Qualification Card (DQC), or a RoSPA Advanced Driver or Chauffeur certificate, or a Taxi/Private Hire licence.
A work permit ( carte de sejour ) and residency status as well.
